JAG 9/23/95 – 4/29/05
JAG (military-speak for Judge Advocate General) is an adventure drama about an elite legal wing of officers trained as lawyers who investigate, prosecute and defend those accused of crimes in the military, including murder, treason and terrorism. Navy Cmdr. Harmon “Harm” Rabb, an ace F-14 pilot turned lawyer, is the top lawyer at JAG. Many of Rabbs cases require him to both keep up his F-14 qualifications and travel the world, in order to bring justice to the cases he is trying. A background story has Rabb dealing with the fact that his father, also a Navy pilot, never returned home after being shot down and held prisoner in North Vietnam. Rabb believes his father is still alive and continues the search he has pursued to find his father, since his teens.
Following in his Father’s footsteps as a naval aviator, lieutenant commander Harmon Rabb Jr. suffered a crash while landing his Tomcat on a storm tossed carrier at sea. Diagnosed with night blindness, Harm transferred to the Navy’s Judge Advocate General Corps, which investigates, defends, and prosecutes the law of the sea. There with fellow JAG lawyer Major Sarah MacKenzie, he now fights in and out of the court room with the same daring and tenacity that made him a top gun in the air.
