DJE was introduced by Jamie Farr:

"The military has changed dramatically since the first Continental Army was mustered over 200 years ago. And NO ONE represents the blend of the traditional and modern military demanded from today's soldier better than David James Elliott on the show "JAG". This evening, I'm honored to present him for his outstanding performance in a television series - the Audie Murphy Award. David James Elliott."

David's Acceptance Speech:

"Thank you! Wow! It's not a bad job I have, doing a little lawyering in the courtroom, hopping into an F-14, doing Mach 2, and all this before lunch. But, that's television. And, the only barrel I'm staring into is the barrel of a 35 mm camera. The real heroes who deserve our recognition and gratitude are the men and women who put their lives on the line every day serving this country in times of war, and in times of peace, to insure our freedoms and to defend our liberties. To do this, they endure hardships far from home and from their families and loved ones. And, I'd like to dedicate this award to these men and women in
uniform who make our country proud, strong, and free! Thank you very much!"
