Friday
(told from Cindy's point of view with inserts from and Sue. These photos are the property of Cindy Glover and Sue Major.
Please do not post them anywhere else. Thank you.)We arrived at Cliffs Valley around 8:30 to have breakfast and be ready for tee off at 9:00. It was a nice sunny day but the wind was ferocious! Cliffs Valley was the "main course" for the tourney, so it was the course that the Golf Channel was set up on and therfore as expected the crowds were much larger.
As we made our way to the 10th whole (David's group played the back nine first) we saw David coming off the practice area. We stood and watched because it was like "bees to honey" the way he was swarmed. Because of his height you could still see his face and he was smiling and chatting as he attempted to move the crowd towards the hole.
There was a delay in the tee-off (wind enduced my guess) so while the gang stood and waited what appeared to be important people based on the way they were dressed came over to shake David's hand. Again lots of laughter and smiles. So cool to watch him be just one of the guys. Reminds me of when my husband gets together with his 'shooting' buddies.
Here is a video of this first hole on Friday which is actually the 10th tee. Notice the wind! I thought it was going to take David's jacket and pants right off! Watch the trees in the background! Anyway, he did a great job and right at the end as they are walking off the tee, you see the pro in front of him turn and congradulate him on the shot. I was amazed because the wind roared as he was teeing off. David even paused for a moment and then took his shot. (Pic left: David speaking to Pro Chris Anderson's caddy {glasses} and his caddy. In the back is the caddy for the Rich Cherry, the other amatuer)
Sue: Cindy was off at the ladies room so I moved on to the next tee. David was waiting to tee off, when out of the blue he started juggling his golf balls. Everybody got a big kick out of it. Of course I just watched and forgot to take any pictures. I don't know... that man just does something to you that makes your mind turn to mush.

I'm not sure why - because it was the only time he did it the whole 3 days, but on one green David turned his hat around backwards.
He looked like a kid! I mean does this look like a 46 yr. old man

Happen to notice that David's bag is one that he got at the Bob Hope. Don't know why, but I thought that was so cool!

Here's another sweet story - although I can't tell you everything that was said. This little boy had a PGA Tour poster hanging from around his neck. He was so cute and he was so excited to see David. David was pretty taken with as well! David asked the little how old he was and told him he had a little boy that was also 4 at home. When he was finished signing the poster David said to the little boy
"That's a great age - don't grow up, ok?"
