Our first of two 'Harm scenes' in this episode takes place in his apartment. Mattie and her father come to visit. Tom tells Harm that he plans to petition the court for full custody. Because Harm will be away on the court date he signs the papers. (DJE's extraordinary talents are demonstrated in this scene - facial expressions, voice, body language all come together so perfectly that the audience has no choice but to feel the mixed emotions of Harm as he does what he knows is right while his heart is breaking.)

Later in the episode, when Harm comes home from his quals, Mattie is moving out. This scene takes place in and around Harm's elevator. To help lighten the moment, Harm peers into Mattie's box and says "You don't have any of my stuff in there do ya?" Very touching moment. Harm gives Mattie an envelope which he tells her to open later...so as soon as the elevator door closes, she promptly opens it!
