Allison (Patricia Arquette) dreams of the life she could have had if she'd become the attorney she originally wanted to be. David's character is the man she was dating prior to 'accepting' her gift and in her dream sequence is married to him. The dream sequence brings Allison to the conclusion that she did indeed make the correct choices in her life.
