While prosecuting a capital case, Annabeth and Conlon disagree about seeking the death penalty for a defendant who is diagnosed as being border line developmentally disabled. (cbs.com) Adding to the tension is the fact that the victim was Conlon's mentor, and his son, an attorney and like a brother to Conlon, is in town and wants to *help* with the case.
The show opens with Conlon and his mentor, the 'Judge', having drinks.
