Annabeth discovers how far a mother will go to protect her son after she retracts her statement identifying her son as the person who is responsible for attacking her and killing his father. cbs.com
Conlon meets with his campaign manager, Durkin, who tells him he needs to know all about the skeletons from this life, and the one before. Conlon wonders whether he should actually run.
Conlon reviews the evidence from the crime scene.
Conlon, Annabeth and Maureen discuss the case. Conlon announces that he will allow the son (also the accused) to visit his mom at the hospital. Annabeth questions if the decision is political. Conlon says rather emphatically that it is to show that the office can do it's job *and* show compassion.
Annabeth feels she has found the motive - the father had cut off Eric financially - the father also had a $2 million life insurance policy.
The news media and most of the city feel the prosecutors office has the wrong guy.
Annabeth informs Conlon of the mother's statement at the press meeting. She claims that there was a threatening picture left on the windshield of her car the day before her husband was killed.
Annabeth and Maureen come to Conlon's office, he is dressed for a high class political event. AB teases "why wasn't I invited?" Conlon teases back... "you were ... ya know Durkin tells me neither one of you has ponied up a dime for my campaign." A few looks are shared and then it is back to the case.
