Annabeth, Maureen and Conlon come under intense scrutiny by the community when they charge two star college football players with the murder of a teammate.
Discussing whether they should cut a deal with one of the players ...
Conlon and Annabeth have lunch and discuss the case ... Conlon then teases Annabeth about eating french fries and she gives it right back saying "you smoke cigars". Conlon defends himself saying "I am a triathlete and that counteracts the effects of the cigar"
Hellman, the defense attorney comes over with the President of Central Indiana University... they share pleasantries and barbs ...
The smoking gun... Conlon suggests putting both the coach and his wife on the stand and treat them as hostile witnesses... Maureen warns it could destroy the football program... Conlon is unfazed.
Later, in Conlon's office, they discuss the ramifications of the case. Annabeth teases Conlon about being known as the man that brought down the football program at Central Indiana. He surprises them when he tells them he convinced 'his new friend' to create a scholarship named for the murdered student.
