David James Elliott

AGE 43

PLAYS Cmdr. Harmon Rabb on JAG

THE WORKOUT "I'm a triathlete: I swim, bike and run. I work out with Gary Kobat, who also trains Jim Carrey and Will Ferrell. He put me on a schedule: At the end of the workday, I run a fast eight miles. I build up for a long run - about 23 miles - once a week. If I'm not in marathon training, I lift weights six days a week. I start out with light weights and get heavier with each set. If you start out real light, you'll fill your muscles with blood first and you'll be less likely to have an injury. I also do yoga and pilates. It's good to crosstrain to maintain conditioning, and the more I vary my workout, the more I stay interested."

THE DIET "In the morning, I'll have egg whites and chicken. Lunch is more protein and healthy carbs. I'll have a small meal for dinner - some fish or chicken and vegetables. As for snacks, I try to stick to fruits and nuts."

CHEAT TREAT "Sugar is my downfall. I love a good Snickers bar."
