Home again David James Elliott, who left “JAG” when he got a development deal at ABC, told TV Guide that he doesn’t know why none of his pilots was picked up there.
He’s back at CBS now on the Friday night drama “Close to Home.” “It was under the (Jerry) Bruckheimer banner, the character was rich, and I didn’t have the burden of carrying the entire show,” he said.
He’s part of a big change at the show, which killed off the lead character’s husband in the spring season finale. “From what I understand, the show was almost canceled, so they changed it to give it more of an ensemble feel,” he said. “They brought in me as well as Jon Seda and Cress Williams, who will do most of the police work.
Last year, I believe, they had lawyers running in with guns, which was completely unrealistic.”
