A Big Bundle of Love

"I never had a dog before." David James Elliott tells In Touch, "Now I'm hooked!"  The star of CBS' Close to Home believes that adopting pit bull Jade from a friend was "one of the best decisions I've ever made.  My wife, Nanci, and I already have two kids [Wyatt 3 and Stephanie 13] so she's the perfect complement to our big, happy family"

David, 46, knows there are other benefits to caring for Jade.  "We both like to excercise, so I take her with me when I jog or swim."  Jade has no complaints - "She's a sucker for water!" the former JAG star says.  But he does have advice for the would-be pit bull owners: "They're not for people with sedentary lifestyles."

And there's nothing laid back about her standard greeting:  "Jade licks my face when I come home," David says.  "She's always happy to see me.  Who wouldn't love that?"
