I had some good pictures, and brought them with me when I headed for the Pebble Beach Golf Links on Sunday. I had one of the Elliott family, and I planned to give it to Stephanie if I had the chance. I never got the chance. Later, Jennifer saw me holding a picture and wanted to see it. She said she would give it to Nanci for me, since I was a chicken, and Nanci turned around and thanked me. At one point as she walked near me I asked if she had gotten to go to Australia when JAG filmed down there. I had been there a few times myself, and was interested in where they might have been. She answered that she had, and that she had been there before, and that yes, it was beautiful.
At one point, when DJE had hit his ball into the trees behind a crowd of people, as he was walking towards his ball he had to come outside the ropes which the gallery must remain behind at all times. So he was much closer to people than he would have been if he had kept the ball in the fairway. A woman with a tiny disposable camera yelled out, "Harm!" He stopped and turned toward her. When he saw she wanted to take a picture, he posed and gave her a big smile. Everyone standing around just laughed, because that is not the typical response from the golfers. That was so typical of DJE over the 4 days, though!

Nearing the final holes of the day, I decided if I wanted an autograph, I better make a move, knowing this would be his last day of play, as there was NO WAY he and his pro were going to make "The Cut". So, when I knew there was going to be a delay in teeing off, I went and stood near Nanci and Stephanie, as I knew DJE would stand and talk to them while the foursome waited. When he started to walk toward the tee, I held out a photo and a Sharpie, and asked if he would do me a favor. He asked my name. That surprised me, as it was the first time he had done that during the whole 4 days of autograph seekers, at least that I knew of. I think it was his way of saying thanks for being part of his "gallery". So, he dedicated the picture to me, and I have a nice souvenir.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable week on the golf courses. I even got to see Tiger Woods' eagle on the 15th, and saw his birdie for the win to make it six wins in a row. History in the making!
I was glad David James Elliott played, and I hope he comes back in the future! Thanks, DJE, you seem like a really nice guy!
