My DJE Story

in the trees in the sand

David and his pro were not playing well, and Paul was having more trouble than imaginable for a pro, so DJE was not getting much "help" as a more experienced pro might have provided. The caddie usually helps, too, but DJE's did not have the knowledge or the ability. She basically just carried the bag. DJE had gotten in late Wednesday night, so he did not even have a chance to familiarize himself with the courses with a couple of practice rounds, and these are tough courses. The caddies are usually locals who can help with hints and pointers, but DJE was not so lucky in that respect, either. So, DJE was an unlucky golfer, and a good sport about it. He never got angry, just maintained and continued playing, even if his ball went in the trees, the rough, the sand, the water, or one time, even bouncing off a curb and landing on a cart path.
