ON NEW ORIGINAL DRAMA

‘SEARCH & RESCUE’


(TORONTO, October 03, 2007) Global Television, Vancouver based Brightlight Pictures and Halifax Film, a DHX Media company, today announced the addition of David James Elliot to the cast of the upcoming 13-part original drama, SEARCH & RESCUE.

Elliot, well known to television fans for “JAG” and “Closer to Home”, will play a recurring character (six-episodes) on the series. SEARCH & RESCUE is currently shooting in British Columbia and is set to premiere in March 2008 on Global.

“The roster of talent is truly outstanding and we couldn’t be more pleased to have David James Elliot returning to Canadian television with this exciting, new drama series,” said Christine Shipton, Vice President of Original Programming for Global Television. “We're looking forward to having our audiences experience the inner workings of the Canadian Coast Guard world, a storyline that hasn't been explored in the past."

SEARCH & RESCUE is a character-driven ensemble drama that focuses on the lives of four imperfect, offbeat and sometimes difficult, but heroic Coast Guard rescue specialists looking for meaning in their own lives while enduring the daily dangers of life out on the Pacific.

Other homegrown talent slated to star in the primetime Canadian original series includes up-and-comers Jeremy Guilbaut (“Edgemont”), Zoie Palmer (“Instant Star”), Claudette Mink (“The Days”) and Steve Bacic (“Andromeda”).
